Hello from the land where my clothes don't fit...
As usual, there's many months between blog posts. As usual, I have a stunning reason. And in fact, I write to update you only because I was harrassed before 9am on Twitter that today was in fact a charming day to update a much-neglected blog and site. You can thank Jen here.
If you could see me, my physique (for lack of a more truthful term) would tell you everything. My almost six months pregnant belly tells more tales of where I've been than this blog ever could. And it would tell you mostly about the couch and the pantry.
It's a bizzare concept combining impending motherhood complete with morning sickness and the oh-so-tireds with late nights at pubs and clubs. In fact, I couldn't. When I fell pregnant I played out the dates I had already booked between eating everything in sight and sleeping all the time, and was happy to take a break.
And happy as I am to take a break I'd like to take a moment to discuss the ambition confusion that I'm certain I'm not the only one experiencing. After spending so many years breathing a music career, I found that when I fell pregnant (and before I even knew I was knocked up!) my music ambition kind of...switched off. And the feelings associated with that is something built of more psychological investigations I'm sure. For now it's a different ambition and I'm sure it'll come back at some point, but I've turned my hand back more to craft these days and spend days on the couch crocheting, hand sewing and just...creating. It's a wonderful feeling.
Which brings me to now.
With not a lot of time left before my hubby and I welcome our bub into the world, I've got three lots of dates left up my sleeve. I'm looking at combining this website into something that more accurately reflects the parts of what my life is now, rather than static content about music. Yes, there's more music to come, I'm not done yet, just done for the next few months.
So stay tuned dear folks, and you'll see me on the flip side of this terribly neglected website and blog.

I'll be playing at Ghost Rock Vineyard on November 14th from 1pm-4pm, with a date TBC at the Taste Festival in Hobart on December 29th and dates TBC at the Cygnet Folk Festival in January. Come along and watch me attempt to negotiate a guitar over the beachball that is my wee one.
NB: Here's a few links I found for you in my travels...
A few years back I read a wonderful book by Rachel Power called 'The Divided Heart: Art and Motherhood' - full of interviews with Australian women about combining their twin passions of motherhood and artistic endeavours. You might like to have a read... And Rachel Power's wonderful blog...
This was an interesting insight to motherhood and music...
